Why Geeks Were Excited About The Super Bowl
Ok, Im not what you would call your typical geek I like sports. I love basketball, but I did enjoy yesterdays super bowl. It was a chance for me and the boys to sit down and cringe at the hard hits and give our arm-chair quarterback advice on what the professionals should have done.
However, nothing made any of us more excited than the following commercials:
Transformers 2: Revenge Of The Fallen
G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra
Star Trek 2009
Military Uses For The Wii Remote
Our family received a Nintendo Wii and many accessories for Christmas. It has been great. It actually puts the younger kids (4 & 5) on a more level playing field with the older kids and adults. In fact, on Christmas day, no one was able to knockout Trustn (4) in boxing and both he and Greyson (5) were holding their own against Kaeley (15) and Traeden (9) in a heated game of tennis.
Anyway, who would have thought that our Christmas gift could be used by the U.S. Military
Merry Christmas!
G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra
Wow, does that bring back memories Rushing home from school to see the rerun episodes of GI Joe on WGN. I think they only ran a dozen or so episodes, but we had to watch.
My best friend, Jay and I really got into it.
First, Transformers. Now, G.I. Joe. Its like Im 12 again, but better!

A San Francisco Treat
Well, I’m in San Francisco. I am here for a conference called Oracle OpenWorld. There are over 43,000 people here for the conference. That’s more than 43,000 people in addition to the other 776,733.
Last night at the opening keynote in addition to the corporate rah-rah, James Carville & Mary Matalin gave a talk on the presidential campaign.
It’s good to see the presentations and attend the hands-on labs at the conference, but I really don’t like big cities.
Oh, below are some pictures of my hotel room. It is the smallest and most expensive room in which I have ever stayed. It is at the Hotel Metropolis and is $349/night.
